Ring gauge
Ring gauge measures diameter in sixty-fourths of an inch. A ring gauge of 48 corresponds to a diameter of three-quarters of an inch.
Wrapper, binder & filler
The wrapper is the outer leaf. The binder holds the filler together. These are distinct catalog attributes; a wrapper’s name alone does not fully describe a blend.
Origin & provenance
A brand’s home, a cigar’s manufacturing origin, and the origins of its tobacco may differ. Clear records preserve those distinctions and identify their sources.
Strength & descriptors
Strength labels and tasting descriptors are subjective. Read them in the context of their source; a manufacturer’s description is not a laboratory measurement or a guarantee of your experience.
Product & package
A cigar profile identifies a particular blend and format. A package describes how many units belong together. Keeping these records separate prevents mistaken identities.
