Start with the same cigar
A lower price only tells you something useful when you know what is being compared. Match the brand, series, wrapper and exact size before comparing packages. Two cigars from the same series can have different dimensions or wrappers; a shared name does not make them interchangeable.
Check the length and ring gauge as well as the shape name. If a listing leaves a detail unclear, confirm it with the retailer. On MyCigarHunt, “Not yet verified” means a detail is unresolved; it is not permission to assume an exact match.

A single is one cigar. A 5-pack contains five, but check whether they are five of the same cigar or a mixed selection. A box is a packaging description, not a fixed quantity: compare the stated count on each listing. A box of 10 and a box of 20 belong in separate comparisons.
Tubes, tins, samplers and bundles deserve the same attention. Packaging may be part of what you want, but do not silently treat different configurations as identical. A mixed sampler can have an average cost per cigar; that average is not the price of every individual cigar inside it.

Divide the package price by the number of cigars. This gives you a common unit for comparing different quantities of the same cigar. Keep the package total alongside that figure: a lower unit price can still require a much larger purchase.

Compare the checkout total
The listed package price may not be the amount you pay. Check shipping, applicable taxes, mandatory fees and any discount you actually qualify for. Use the same delivery address and shipping service when comparing retailers. An advertised coupon or free-shipping threshold is useful only if your order meets its conditions.
For example, a hypothetical $40 five-pack plus $8 shipping costs $48 before tax, or $9.60 per cigar. A $44 five-pack with shipping included costs $8.80 per cigar before tax. The higher sticker price has the lower delivered cost in that example. Actual checkout totals determine the result.
If a cart contains several products, compare the whole cart or use the same clearly stated method to allocate shipping. Do not assign all delivery costs to one cigar in one shop and ignore them in another. Adding items solely to unlock free shipping can increase your total spending.
Choose the quantity that fits your plans
Singles allow a smaller initial purchase. A five-pack sits between a single and a larger box when you want several of the same cigar. A box may suit someone who already knows the exact cigar they want and intends to use that quantity. None of these formats automatically offers the lowest unit price.
Compare both the amount you will spend today and the quantity you actually want. A box discount has limited value if it leaves you with more cigars than you intended to buy. Consider your existing storage arrangements before ordering a larger quantity; a lower unit price is only one part of the decision.
